Project 2

Contextual Fit

Z.N 2.jpg

Main Objective of this project is to add an extra piece to the Smith house that doesn't require destroying the original concept but producing a strenghtened and fluid flow to the existing design.

Story/Narration

The Smith Family has ordered our help to design an addition to their house on the shore of Long Island Sound. The original project was designed in 1965 by architect Richard Meier, has been widely published and is internationally known. Unfortunately, the Owners needs have change since the original design, thereby warranting this architectural intervention. The Owner specifically request that the integrity of the original design be respected, yet the new addition should have its own presence. So it is our task to contextually fit this new piece to the bonafide as good and respectful to the space.
